Dear colleagues,

With a great pleasure we invite you to attend the international conference “Tatars in the History and Culture of Lithuania from the 14th to the 21st Centuries: the Latest Researches”. The conference will take place at Vilnius University, Faculty of Philology (Vilnius, Lithuania).

Tatars have left remarkable footprint in the history and culture of Lithuania. That is why the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania has announced the year 2021 as the “Year of Lithuanian Tatar History and Culture”. This conference is a part of the program “Year of Tatar history and culture”, which has been approved by the Government of the Republic of Lithuania

Conference will take place on the 9th–10th of September 2021 at Vilnius University, Faculty of Philology, both live and remotely.

Suggested topics:

  • Problems of Lithuanian Tatar history.
  • Linguistic and cultural aspects.
  • The Manuscript tradition.
  • Lithuanian Tatars relation with other Turkic people.
  • Development and perspectives of modern Tatar communities.
  • Quranistic.
  • Life of Tatars as a ethno-confessional minority in a social context.
  • Famous people of Tatar origin.

 

Conference languages: Lithuanian, English, Polish, Russian and Turkish.

Duration of plenary presentation – up to 30 min.

Other presentations – up to 20 min.

 

Important dates!

Speaker‘s form and thesis have to be sent until the 3rd of May 2021.

Announcement of speaker‘s confirmation will be sent until the 3rd of June 2021.

 

Requirements for the thesis:

not less than 300 words.
